Meet the Founder
Portia Thomas is a Philadelphia-based real estate developer, licensed Realtor, and housing advocate with a passion for creating thoughtful, community-centered development opportunities.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Portia developed an early appreciation for the impact housing and neighborhood investment can have on individuals, families, and communities. Her experience spans real estate sales, property management, leasing, tenant placement, development planning, and project execution, providing a well-rounded understanding of the entire real estate lifecycle.
Beyond real estate, Portia is deeply committed to community engagement and believes development should be about more than buildings. She is passionate about creating quality housing, strengthening neighborhoods, and expanding opportunities for future generations.
Through Ruthstone Development, Portia is focused on building projects that combine thoughtful design, practical functionality, and long-term community impact. Her vision is to create spaces that not only serve residents today but continue adding value for years to come.
